An Internet Protocol or popularly known as IP Address is a numerical address of a computing device on the internet network. Computing devices communicate with numbers, for communication to occur between two devices/platforms, alphabets converts to a numerical address and read by the computing device.
IP Address serves two functions: host or network interface identification and location addressing. This enables IP Address to uniquely identify each host in a network.
